The Yaesu FTM-400XDR C4FM Transceiver has GPS/APRS, and is a 50 watt, dual band transceiver with an improved GPS receiver. Hands-free operation is available by using the optional BU-2 and BH-2A headset. Built-in GPS antenna provides location, time, direction and other APRS® information.
The FTM-400XD utilizes C4FM FDMA, Frequency Division Multiple Access. It performs well on both FM, and C4FM digital mode. It uses enhanced technology for a lower BER, providing more stable communications. Digital and Analog FM Capable:
By simply connecting the optional MH-85A11U microphone with camera, you can take snapshots. They can be displayed on the screen, or easily sent to other C4FM FDMA digital transceivers.

Yaesu FTM-400XDR C4FM Transceiver Review
I like the large touch screen, in a world where everything is getting smaller this was a breath of fresh air. It is responsive, but a little difficult to see in direct sunlight. I like radios with remote heads, but the microphone cable plugs into the body.
I found it equally easy to program by hand or with the software. The cross band repeat is the best feature, it works well and I use it regularly. The radio does get hot on high power during long QSOs. I absolutely favor it over the FTM 300DR just for the display alone.
The microphone is adequate, but I find using the DTMF buttons difficult with my large fingers. The C4FM is clear and I do not do APRS so I can not review that. Dual band monitoring works nicely and is great for monitoring 2 bands, or talking on one and monitoring another.
