I have several of these cards in the FTM 400, FTM 100, and FT5DR. It stores my programmed channels, and radio data in case I accidentally change something. In both radios, I programmed one band, saved it to the card and then loaded it to the other band.
After completing a mars mod, I inserted the memory card and stored my frequencies back into that radio.
It was helpful when I tried to add a frequency on the road, and I overwrote one I had programmed. With the memories stored in the card, I reloaded them and added the frequency again.
I have only been using them for about 2 years, and I have yet to have a failure. I use the larger cards in my cameras, and I have been very satisfied with them as well.
